Thora Jane (Deepe) Ritter

Thora Jane Ritter, 64, of 1310 Forest, died about 12:30 a.m. today as a result of a fire in her home. Deputy County Coroner Lawrence Curry has ruled she died of smoke inhalation. She was born on July 2, 1919, in Defiance, Ohio, and lived in this area for 50 years, after coming from Ohio.

As Thora Jane Mays, she married Warren A. Ritter Sr. in Mishawaka on June 25, 1965. He survives with a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Thira) Couture of Pierceton, Ind.; a son, Harold C. Mays Jr. of Omaha, Neb.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Charles (Jean) Sanders of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Jerry (Paula) Seiler and Mrs. Murray (Sue) Modlin, both of Mishawaka; two stepsons, Michael L. and Warren A. Ritter Jr., both of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Freda Krause of Minneapolis.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel. Rev. Gary Colby, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, of which she was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home
