Geraldine M. (Coryn) Huys

MISHAWAKA - Geraldine M. Huys, 73, of Bowman Drive, died at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. Mrs. retired in 1967 as co-owner of Huys Grocery.

She was born Dec. 14, 1919, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On May 25, 1940, in Mishawaka, as Geraldine Coryn, she married William A. Huys. He survives with two daughters, Cindy Gianesi and Diane Imus, both of Mishawaka; three sons, Kenneth F. Middlebury, William G. of Mishawaka, and David of Cassopolis; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Inez Wieczorek of South Bend.

She was a member the B.K. Club Auxiliary, Eagles Aerie 1083, and the Rosary Society of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
