Walter T. Cockrell

Services for Walter T. Cockrell, 62, of 1602 W. Florence, who died Friday at the Fort Wayne Veterans Administration Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clark's Funeral Chapel. Rev. F.D. Johnson, pastor of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Clark's Funeral Chapel.

Cockrell was a former hotel waiter. Born in Macon, Miss., he had lived in South Bend since 1972. His wife, the former Freda Miller, died in 1964.

He is survived by his parents, John Cockrell and Mrs. Fannie Merriweather, both of South Bend; two sons, John P. of Columbus, Ohio, and Tony of Milwaukee, and three grandchildren.

He was a World War II Army veteran.
