Ralph E. Cealka Jr., 86, of South Bend, passed away at 9:47 AM Friday, October 7, 2005, in Hospice House of South Bend, surrounded by family. Ralph was born on January 2, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Ralph and Esther (Goering) Cealka.
On October 11, 1952, he married the former Elnora Ray. Ralph is survived by his loving wife, "Ellie" of South Bend; one son, Jeff Cealka of Tulsa, OK; and two granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann and Katelyn Rae.
Ralph is an area lifetime resident. He graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1937. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during WW II, where he achieved the rank of staff sergeant. He was a member of the Kane Masonic Lodge #183, Scottish Rite and was past president of the St. Joe County Home Builders Association. He was a salesman for home construction and worked for Portage Realty before retiring.
Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, October 10, 2005, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. A Masonic service performed by Kane Lodge 183 will be held at 7:30 on Monday in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 11, 2005, in the funeral home. Rev. Karen Brugler, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
