James F. Campbell

James F. Campbell, 80, of Granger, passed away on Thursday morning, Jan 13, in the Regency Place Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on June 19, 1919, in Lafayette, Ind., to C.R. and Lulu Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Pat Pietzak; brothers, Bob, Jack and Ned Campbell; and by his grandson, Jeffrey Burdsall.
He is survived by his wife, Verna R. Campbell; four daughters, Donna (Jeff) Burdsall of f Las Vegas, Nev., Judy (David) Hajjar of Prides Crossing, Mass., Cathy Campbell of Las Vegas and Cindy (Ron) Olander of Los Altos, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Laura (Rex) Linville, Brad (Catherine) Burdsall, Doug (Ailee) Burdsall, Lindsay King, Jamie King, Melissa King, Erin, Amy and Annie Olander; and by two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Mallory Linville.
Mr. Campbell retired from the Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C., after 15 years of service. Prior to his government service he worked at Bendix, Allison's GMC and General Electric in their mechanical engineering departments. He served in the Navy during World War II.
