Helena Marie (Brown) Pacala

Helena M. Pacala, 84, of Berkley Circle, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.

Helena was born on Aug. 5, 1919, in Wabash, Ind., as the daughter of the late Rolla and Edith (Martindale) Brown. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Horvath; her former husband, Theodore Pacala in 2002; and by her son-in-law, Stephen Tarr in 1996.

Helena is survived by a daughter, Sharon Tarr of Mishawaka, Ind.

She worked for South Bend Tackle for five years but spent most of her time at home. She belonged to the Red Hat Society and was very active in the Berkley Circle Community. Just last weekend she helped decorate for Christmas.

Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today, Dec. 7, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, in the Hahn Funeral Home, with Chaplain Dick Dunn officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
