Junior Theodore Braden

Junior Theodore Braden, 84, residing on South Oakmont Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 1:40 a.m.Sunday, Oct. 5, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He worked at Bendix Corporation for 23½ years and Torrington for 10 years in design engineering, retiring in 1983.
Mr. Braden was born Feb. 24, 1919, in Davenport, Iowa, to Theodore Albert and Henrietta (Koehler) Braden.
On March 29, 1942, in South Bend, he married Ruth E. Zimmerman, who survives. They have traveled all over the United States and wintered in Leesburg, Fla., for the past 20 years.
Along with his loving wife of 61 years, Ruth Braden of South Bend, he is also survived by one daughter, Barbara Braden of North Hollywood, Calif.; two sons, John E. Braden of Draper, Utah, and Terry D. (Sue) Braden of Edwardsburg, Mich.; two grandchildren, Christopher Braden of South Bend and Jennifer (Ryan) Molnar of Edwardsburg; and by a brother, James Albert (Carol) Braden of South Bend.
Mr. Braden was a former member of the Good Sam RV Club. He served in North Africa and Italy during World War II as an Air Force bomber pilot, completing 42 missions.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Burial and military services will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Friday in the funeral home.
