Alvin Bell, aged 27. of 124 North Studebaker street, died Tuesday in St. Joseph's hospital. He had been ill of a heart ailment four weeks.

Born in Nashville, Ark., July 11, 1918, he came to South Bend in 1923. He was graduated from Central High school in 1937. Mr. Bell served as manager of the Smoke's Cigar Shop Tavern, 436. Chapin street.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bell, this city: two brothers, Sergt. John Bell and Corp. Laurence Bell, and a sister, Mrs. Jerma, Mae Ellis.

Funeral services will be held 2 at m. Saturday in the Grace Methodist church with Rev. J. H. Bowles, pastor of the United Methodist church, officiating
