Richard J. Becker
Richard J. Becker, 52, of 923 S. Ironwood Dr., was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph's Hospital at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, after suffering an apparent heart attack in his home. A trust officer with the First Bank & Trust Co., he was born Sept. 29, 1919, in South Bend.
On Dec. 24, 1941, in South Bend, he married Lois Virginia Popejoy who survives. Also surviving is a son, William Dale, stationed with the United States Navy in San Diego.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the South Bend Chapel of Hollis Funeral Home, Rev. Carl Lemna, pastor of the River Park United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in City Cemetery at New Carlisle. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel.
Mr. Becker was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose
