Thaddeus A. Babinski

Thaddeus A. Babinski, 75, of Crumstown Highway, died at 4:30 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mr. Babinski retired in 1982 from The South Bend Tribune, where he worked in the composing room as a print compositor after more than 37 years of service.
He was born Aug. 7, 1917, in South Bend. On June 11, 1949, in South Bend, he married Alice M. Polak. She survives with a daughter, Judith Ann Babinski of South Bend; a son, James R. of South Bend; one grandchild; and three sisters, Mary Nawrocki, Bernice Zwierzynski, and Virginia Galeziewski, all of South Bend.
He was a member of Holy Name Society and Golden Cluster, both of St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Polish Businessmen, American Legion Post 357, Diabled American Veterans Post 6, South Bend Tribune 25 Year Club, Typographical Union, was a veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum of St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.
