SOUTH BEND - Jake Aronson, 74, of 418 E. Springdale Lane, Grand Prairie, Texas, formerly of South Bend, died at 9 p.m. Friday in Arlington Memorial Hospital, Arlington, Texas. Mr. Aronson was a dispatcher of a local freight line.

He was born May 18, 1919, South Bend, and was a resident most of his life.

On Feb. 14, 1987, in Duncanville, Texas, he married Hazel Brooks. She survives with two sons, Barry of Pittsburgh, and Thomas of Naperville, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Sherry Pool of Midlothian, Texas, and Janis Echols of Waxahachie, Texas; and a stepson, Elwood Brooks of Paris, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Morris of South Bend.

He was Army veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Kidney Foundation.
