Miriam L. (Beyer) Phillips

SOUTH BEND Miriam Louise (Beyer) Phillips, 84, of Holy Cross Care & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of 1904 E. Hartman Drive, died at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday in the nursing center.

Mrs. Phillips retired from Studebaker Corp. after 20 years of service and was a former dancer for Paramount Productions Inc. She was born Aug. 1, 1910, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Aug. 28, 1943, as Miriam L. Beyer, she married Walter Phillips. He died Jan. 26, 1989.

She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Marnocha of South Bend; a son, Michael of Boulder, Colo.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ and Women's Guild and was a graduate of South Bend College of Commerce.

Memorial services will be at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement
