Max Bernard Rodin

Max Rodin, 79, a nuclear engineer who worked on the Manhattan Project for development of the atomic bomb and in the development of the first nuclear submarine, the Nautilus, died Thursday St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights. Mr. Rodin, who lived in Park Forest for many years, worked at Argonne National Laboratory for 18 years until his retirement 14 years ago. Earlier, he worked with Adm. Hyman Rickover and the Navy Department in Washington while helping to develop the Nautilus. He worked on the Manhattan Project during World War Il.
Mr. Rodin is survived by his wife, Beverly; two daughters, Dr. Miriam, and Joanne Cox; a son, Jared; a sister; and a grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Piser Weinstein Menorah Chapel, 5206 N. Broadway
