W. Howard Shoupe

SOUTH BEND - W. Howard Shoupe, 84, of Eunice Drive, died at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday in Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle. Mr. Shoupe retired as the owner of The Book Shop after 50 years. He was born June 22, 1911, in Hebron.

On May 22, 1934, in Mishawaka, he married Helen B. Kline. She survives with two daughters, Mary Beth Shoupe of Portage, Mich., and Kate Shoupe Allen of South Bend; a son, John of Fairfax, Va.; two grandchildren; and a brother, Richard N. of South Bend. He was a member of South Bend Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow and former secretary.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., where the rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
