Ruth A. (McNabb) Armington

NEW CARLISLE - Ruth Arline Armington, 80, of Hamilton Grove Retirement Community, died at 3:42 a.m. Wednesday in the nursing home.

Mrs. Armington was a retired registered nurse. She was born Dec. 16, 1910, in South Bend and lived in New Carlisle since 1982, coming from Shelbyville, Ind.

On Aug. 18, 1935, in South Bend, she married Arthur S. Watson. He died in 1960. On July 14, 1962, in Shelbyville, she married John M. Armington. He died in 1970.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Candlish of Bloomsburg, Pa.; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Jane Huff of Atlanta and Lois Jean Shaffner of Mill Creek.

A son, David A. Watson, died in 1983.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Current Topic Club, and Psi Iota Xi Sorority, all of Shelbyville.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hamilton Grove Chapel. Cremation will take place with burial at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville. There will be no visitation. Amen-Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
