Opal Guhse

South Bend, IN - Opal Guhse, 90 years old, residing at Country Care West, South Bend, formerly of St. Paul's Retirement Community, South Bend, passed away at 2:05 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at the care center. Miss Guhse was born on May 20, 1911, in South Bend, to the late Emil W. and Sarah (Shaum) Guhse. She has been a lifelong area resident.
Miss Guhse was preceded in death by one sister, Myrtle Guhse; and three brothers, Lowell and Donald Guhse, and by an infant brother.
Miss Guhse retired in 1972 from Bendix Corporation in the Brake Division after 30 years of employment. She was a member of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church
Survivors include one sister, Elma (John R.) Osborn of Lafayette, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. today, January 11, 2002, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Rev. Charles Ternet, pastor of the church, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to services today at the Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville.
