Stanley J. White

Sept. 8, 1912 - Feb. 15, 1999

Stanley J. White, 86, of Hollywood Place, died following a lengthy illness at 1:20 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 15, in the St. Joseph Care Center.

Mr. White was born on Sept. 8, 1912, in South Bend, Ind., to Edwin T. and Lillian (Jannasch) White, and was a lifetime area resident.

On Dec. 12, 1941, in South Bend, he married Kathryn Nichols, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Caroline S. (Clint) Cordell of Granger, Ind.; a son, Robert A. White of South Bend; and four grandchildren, Kevin and Scott (Stephanie) Van Zant, and Glen White, all of South Bend, and Corey White of Fort Wayne, Ind.

Mr. White retired from the Bendix Corporation as an expediter in the aero-space division after 25 years of service. He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor's degree in Business, and was a captain in the United States Army during World War II. He was a former member of the American Turners, was an avid bridge player with various bridge clubs in the area, and was also an avid fisherman.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place at Michiana Crematory, with entombment at Riverview Cemetery.
