Schuyler G. Smith

MISHAWAKA - Schuyler G. Smith, 82, of Berkeley Circle, died about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in his home of natural causes.

Mr. Smith retired in 1974 as district manager of the circulation department of The Tribune after 43 years of service. He was born Sept. 20, 1911, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On April 9, 1938, in South Bend, he married Sarah "Sally" Berdyne Sampson. She died Dec. 30, 1981.

He is survived by a son, Robert C. of Mishawaka; and three grandchildren.

He was a member of American Turners, River Park Fishermens Club, B.K. Club, and St. Bavo's Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Edwardsburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hahn Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m.
