Helen M. (Lacer) Laughlin

Nov. 29, 1911- March 31, 2000

Helen M. Laughlin, 88, of North St. Louis Boulevard, South Bend, Ind., passed away of natural causes on Friday morning, March 31, in the Cardinal Health Care Center, South Bend.

She was born on Nov. 29, 1911, in South Bend, the daughter of Leonard L. and Harriett (Teske) Lacer. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in South Bend, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.

On Sept. 1, 1922, in South Bend, she married Eugene H. Laughlin, who preceded her in death on March 29, 1982.

She is survived by three children: a daughter, Kathleen M. Furukawa and her husband, Paul of San Antonio, Texas, and two sons, Eugene L. Laughlin and his wife, Janet of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Richard L. Laughlin of South Bend.; and by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 3, in the McGann Funeral Home, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend, IN 46615. The Rev. Dr. Robert Manning will be officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 2, in the funeral home.
