Carl A. Hass, 70, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died at 12:20 a.m. Friday in Mease Hospital in Dunedin, Fla.
He was born in Steven's Point, Wis., and moved to Clearwater in 1972 from South Bend, when he retired as the sales manager for the Indiana & Michigan Electric Co. here. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Dunedin. He was active in volunteer work with the retarded in Clearwater.
Surviving are his wife, Marie E.; a daughter, Linda Kruse of Casa Grande, Ariz.; three sons, Edward C. of Waynesville, Ohio.; Carl A. Jr. of Wheaton, Ill. and Kenneth E. of Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, Florence Givens, and a brother, Clarence Hass, both of South Bend; and 16 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. Michael the Archangel Church. Burial will be in Clearwater. The Rhodes Funeral Home in Clearwater is handling arrangements.
