DOWAGIAC - Donald A. Hardman, 57, Magician Lake, route 6, Dowagiac, died Monday evening in Lee Memorial hospital. Mr. Hardman was born Aug. 26, 1912, in South Bend, Ind., the son of H. Monroe and Charlotte Rennowe Hardman.

Mr. Hardman, an Army veteran of World War II, moved to Dowagiac in 1946 from South Bend where he had been associated with the Hardman Fuel and Brick Company. He was of Niles Commandery No. 12 Keystone Chapter No. 36 RAM, Elks Lodge No. 889 and the Doe-WahJack Post No. 563 of the American Legion. He was also a member and past master of the Peninsular Lodge No. 10 F&AM. 

Survivors include his widow, the former Ruth V. Shultz, to whom he was married Nov. 15, 1942, in Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Norlan Wolf of Dowagiac; a son, Craig M. of Villa Park, Ill.; two, grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Louis Hasley of South Bend; and two brothers, Everett M. of South Bend and Richard N. of Nashville, Tenn.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the McLauchlin funeral home, Dowagiac, with the Rev. John H. Ristow, pastor of the Dowagiac United Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today
