Wayne C. Castle

BUCHANAN Wayne C. Castle, 92, died June 2, 2005, at Silverbrook Manor in Niles. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, June 6, at Swem Funeral Home in Buchanan with the Rev. Richard Watson officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan. Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ in Buchanan or Hospice at Home.

Wayne was born Aug. 4, 1912, in South Bend, Ind., to Edwin and Anastasia Castle. He married Lena Koenigshof on June 11, 1939, in River Park, Ind.

Wayne owned and operated Castle Jewelry Store in Buchanan from 1947 to 1990. He was a life member of Masonic Lodge 68 F&AM, and was past president of the Buchanan Lions Club, Buchanan Library Board and Buchanan Chamber of Commerce. He was a former deacon at the Church of Christ in Buchanan.

Survivors include: a daughter, Charlene Luton of Niles; a son, Thomas Castle of Buchanan; a brother, Charles Castle of Stevensville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents and his wife, Lena.
