Noel E. Lord

SOUTH BEND - Noel E. Lord, 61, of Woodmont Drive, died at noon Friday in St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, after an illness. He was a new-car salesman for Jordan Ford, Mishawaka, for 20 years. Born May 13, 1929, in Terre Haute, Ind., he had lived in this area 40 years, coming from Phoenix, Ariz.

On April 1, 1902, in South Bend, he married Betty E. Lawson, who survives.

Mr. Lord was a member of Elks Lodge 235, Moose Lodge 58 and American Legion Post 777. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a Republican candidate for the 5th District South Bend Common Council. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd.
