Mary Margaret (Hoke) Martin

SOUTH BEND — Margaret Hoke Martin, 94, of Main St, died at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday in her home after an Win Mrs. Martin was born July 7, 1896, in South Bend, and has been a lifetime resident. On April 17, 1918, in South Bend, she married Diehl H. Martin. He died July 10, 1967.

Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Whitcomb of Cape Coral, Fit; a son, Diehl H. Martin, Jr. of Fullerton, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grand-children. A son, Fred W. died in 1967.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, past president of United Methodist Women's, Athena Club, Mizpah Class of the church, former regent of the Schuyler Colfax Chapter Daughters of American Revolution, Indiana Chapter Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America, Society of Indiana Pioneers, charter member of the Hearing and Speech Auxiliary, Northern Indiana Genealogy Society, and Phi Sigma Sorority.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Sumption Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William.
