Winnifred J. Norman

Winnifred Jeanette Whitmore Norman, 90, formerly of South Bend, Ind., died on Thursday, Feb. 18, at the Presbyterian Home in Clinton, S.C. She was born in October 1908, in South Bend, to the late Etta and Charles Whitmore.
After attending Milwaukee Downes College, she married Ronald Whyte Norman on Sept. 1, 1931. They lived in South Carolina since 1951. For many years she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and her community. Her husband preceded her in death in 1997, as did two sons and a brother.
She is survived by a son, Charles Whitmore Norman of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Kathleen Norman O'Guin of Bronxville, N.Y.; and by seven grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Virginia W. Smith of Schaumburg, Ill.
Memorial services for Ronald and Winnifred will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Mishawaka, Ind., at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend. Arrangements are being handled by the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka.
