GRAND RAPIDS – Henry Orville Taylor, 110, residing in Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital, Grand Rapids.

Henry was born on September 28, 1907 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to the late Harry W. Taylor and Stella (Ambler) Taylor and lived in South Bend from 1910 until moving to Grand Rapids in 1998. Henry Taylor was the fifth of twelve children. He was the last survivor of his siblings living 110 years 6 month 17 days. He outlived both wives and all of his children

Henry worked in the Circulation Department for the South Bend Tribune, retiring in 1969. He was a member of Robert Blume Lodge #278, IOOF, and the St. Joseph Lodge #45, F&AM.

In 1928, he was united in marriage to Helen Ollmann. Henry and Helen were married for 50 years before her passing in 1978. He later in 1983 married Mildred Roberts, who has also preceded him in death in 1990. Henry was preceded in death by his son Eugene Henry Taylor, daughter, Janice K. (Taylor) Jones, step-daughter Annabella (Farmer) Perkins; sisters, Sylvia Miltenberger, Golda Walbridge, Mabel Wise, Florence Cole, Mae Baumgartner, Lillian Good and Charlotte Taylor; and brothers, Kenneth Taylor, Alfred Taylor, Robert Taylor, and Lloyd Taylor.

Henry is survived by his grandchildren, Kevin (Gail) Jones of Grand Rapids, Karen Jones of Grand Rapids, and Brian (Kim) Jones of Dearborn Heights, MI; great-grandsons, Keith Jones and Scott Jones and step-son, Evan Farmer and family of Indiana.

Funeral services for Henry Orville Taylor will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615, where friends may visit with the family two hours prior.
