Kathryn (Schuell) West

Kathryn Schuell West, 69, of 415 W. Madison, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital after a month's illness. She was a former director of the Senior Citizens Center and had been employed by Camp Eberhart and the South Bend Art Center. She was born on April 6, 1908, in South Bend and lived here all her life.
On March 14, 1942, in Crown Point, she married Forrest R. West, a South Bend architect and former city building commissioner.
He survives, along with three sons, John R. and Mark F., both of Atlanta, and Paul W. of Portland, Ore.; a brother, John M. Schuell of Rochester, Mich., and a sister, Mrs. Lucille Duggan of South Bend.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenneth R. Hemphill, pastor of Olive Chapel United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Mrs. West was a member of the First United Methodist Church
