Arthur Alwyn Fortier

FORTIER - Word has been received here of the death of Arthur Alwyn Fortier, 67, of 913 Mace, Madison Heights, Wis., formerly of South Bend, at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Bloomfield Hills Convalescent Center, Bloomfield Hills, Mich., after a long illness. Fortier was a retired Continental Engineering Co., Detroit, employe and a former computer programming teacher at the University of Detroit.

He was born on April 22, 1908, in Cadillac, Mich.

On May 19, 1932, in Alpena, Mich., he married Margaret Murphy, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Arthur W. of Royal Oak, Mich.; four grandchildren; a brother, John of Royal Oak. and four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Bryan, Mrs. Dorothy Scheer, Mrs. Maxine Rumpf and Mrs. Betty Rose, all of South Bend.

Services will be at noon Tuesday in St. Dennis Catholic Church, Madison Heights. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Mich. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today in the Sawyer-Swanson Funeral Home, - Madison Heights.
