Wilbur O. Barker

NILES - Wilbur O. "Joe" Barker, 87, of Regency Place, South Bend, formerly of 1340 Wayne St., died at Tuesday in the nursing home.

Mr. Barker retired in 1970 from Tyler Refrigeration after 25 years of service. He was born Aug. 18, 1907, in South Bend and lived in Niles since 1941, coming from South Bend.

On Dec. 20, 1941, in South Bend, he married Minnie C. Hess. She died in 1990.

He is survived by two sisters, Helen Barker of Edwardsburg and Winifred Rainier of Mishawaka.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend. Burial will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
