Donald W. Holstein

Donald William Holstein, 77, of 1932 Malvern Way, died at 4:15 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital. He was the mail room superintendent at The Tribune for 47 years, retiring in 1972.

Born Oct. 19, 1907, in South Bend, he was a lifelong area resident.

On Sept. 16, 1934, in South Bend, he married Bernice Ringle, who survives. Also surviving is a sister, Virginia Frepan of Venice, Fla. A brother, Carl, died in 1979.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 336 N. Main St. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Ile was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and The Tribune 25-Year Club.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the St. Joseph County Heart Association
