Willard Charles Peter Fortier

Willard C. Fortier, 67, of Covina, Calif., formerly of South Bend, was found dead in his residence at 2:40 p.m. Sunday after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was a retired president of the U.S. Pump Corp. of Los Angeles.

Born Oct. 21, 1906, he had lived in California 29 years, moving there from South Bend.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Margianne Hartman of Drummond Island, Mich., Mrs. Susan Henderson of Boston and Mrs. Deborah Jantz of Los Angeles; two brothers, Arthur A. and John R., both of. Royal Oak, Mich., and four sisters, Mrs. Charles A. Bryan, Mrs. George G. Rumpf Jr., Mrs. Robert 'L. Rose and Mrs. Edward O. Scheer, all of South Bend.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in the St. Louis Catholic Church, Covina. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Covina Hills. A rosary will be recited at 7:30. p.m. today in the Custer-Christiansen Mortuary, Covina.

Mr. Fortier was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.
