Helen Naomi (Carroll) Spain

Helen Naomi Spain of Chino Hills died May 4 at Columbia Chino Valley Medical Center. She was 89. Mrs. Spain, a homemaker and 20-year resident of Chino Hills, had previously lived in Fullerton and in Westwood.

She was born Oct. 6, 1907 in Noblesville, Ind. She graduated from Purdue University with a degree in English in the 1930s.

Mrs. Spain is survived by sons William Spain of Spring Valley Lake, Cal., and Robert Ramsey of Torrance; daughter Carroll Griggs of Anaheim; 10 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, May 2 at Rose Hills Mortuary in Whittier
