Frances Beatrice (Shelton) McShann

McSHANN — Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Frances McShann, 57. of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of South Bend, at 6 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital, Kansas City. Mrs. McShann was a supervisor for the Internal Revenue Service.

Born on May 29. 1918, in Madisonville, Ky.. she had lived in Kansas City 25 years, moving there from South Bend.

In 1941, in Kansas City, she married Jay McShann, who survives. Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson H. Shelton of South Bend; four daughters, Linda, Jayne and Pamela. all at home, and Mrs, Carol Hubbard of Chicago; three grand-children and a brother, Hobert Shelton of South Bend.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Canaan Grant A.M.E. Church, Kansas City. Burial will follow in Kansas City. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Houcks & Sons Funeral Home, Kansas City.
