John Herbert Rothballer

John Hubert Rothballer, youngest son of Joseph, Gladys Rothballer, Bend, was born in that city April 28, 1919, and met his untimely death Mar. 23, 1941. John attended and finished the South Bend Central High school and had attended school a year at Indianapolis State College and entered Tri-State college nearly three years ago from which he would have finished the engineering course at the close of his present term in June. Having lived here for nearly three years he had greatly endeared himself to all who knew him and those who have known him best, loved him most. His was a life of ambition to attain the highest and best which life can afford, and while he will be greatly missed we know that in the coming years we'll understand.

He met his death in a terrible automobile accident which also claimed life of his brother, Ulysses Rothballer and a cousin, Robert B. Jefferies, and three other victims all of South Bend.

He leaves to mourn, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rothballer, his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Rothballer, the brother's wife and child of Dr. Ulysses Rothballer, the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Vaugh, of 1020 E. Sorin St., , South Bend, Ind.

Funeral services were held at Lowell Heights Methodist church Thursday at South Bend, and burial was in St. Joe Valley Memorial Park at South Bend
