MISHAWAKA - Robert "Bob" Meyer, 79, of Elmwood Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 4:20 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Mr. Meyer was born on Nov. 16, 1918, in South Bend, as the son of the late William H. and Henrietta (Boettcher) Meyer.

On Sept. 19, 1964, in Mishawaka, he married Anna Major, who preceded him in death on June 11, 1993. Mr. Meyer was preceded in death by a brother, Richard in 1944; and by a sister, Mary in 1973.

Mr. Meyer is survived by a daughter, Linda K. Meyer of Mishawaka; a son, Phillip J. Meyer of Kokomo, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Barbara Frank of Niles, Mich., Mary (Rob) Watkins, Becky Meyer and Kristin Meyer, all of Mishawaka, Ann Marie (Frank) Deditch, Sherry Meyer and RaeAnn Walden, all of Kokomo, Ind.; six great-grandchildren, David and Devon Frank, both of Niles, Lee and Mark Watkins, both of Mishawaka, and Lacy and Shandi Deditch, both of Kokomo; a sister, Ruth (Charles) Wagner of St. Peter, Minn.; and by two brothers, Donald (Val) Meyer of New Braunfels, Texas, and William Meyer of South Bend.

Mr. Meyer was the owner and operator of Bob's Phillips 66 Station for 12 years, Bob's Sinclair Station for 10 years, and Bob's Marathon Gas Station on Lincolnway in Mishawaka for 20 years. He was a member of the Coalbush United Methodist Church of Mishawaka, and had served as the church treasurer. He was also a 50-year mason with the former South Bend Lodge #294, which is now St. Joseph Lodge #45, and Orak Temple Shrine in Michigan City, Ind.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Coalbush United Methodist Church, 15977 Jackson Road, Mishawaka, with Rev. James Davidson officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth Street, Mishawaka, and one hour prior to services on Thursday in the church.
