Betty J. (Fitzgerald) Wukovits

March 21, 1919 - July 1, 1999

Betty Jane Wukovits, 80, of Indiana Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a lengthy illness at 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, in her residence. Betty was born on March 21, 1919, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Roy and Elsa (Trozelle) Fitzgerald, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Wukovits in 1965.

Betty moved to South Bend, Ind., after spending much of her childhood in Indianapolis, Ind.

On March 6, 1943, in South Bend, she married Victor J. Wukovits, who survives. She is also survived by two sons, Charles (Christine) Wukovits of Mishawaka and Victor (Flor) Wukovits of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Caryn and Carol Wukovits of Mishawaka, and.Victor Wukovits and his fiancee, Margaret Espanoza of Lake Charles, La.; a brother, Robert (Kay) Fitzgerald of New Haven, Conn.; and by two sisters-in-law, Theresa Healey of South Bend and Anne Wukovits of Tulsa, Okla.

In her prime, Betty and her husband Vic were avid golfers and made many friends during their winter trips to Texas. She was very involved in her family life, as family was extremely important to her.

Memorial services will be held at a later date, to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the American Cancer Society. The Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, is handling her arrangements
