Shirley Blanche (Douglas) Eichorst

Shirley Eichorst, 76, of South Bend, Ind., died Saturday at a local hospital. Memorial services were Sunday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.

Mrs. Eichorst was born in Niles, Mich., and grew up in South Bend, where she was a dental assistant for more than 20 years. She moved to Abilene this year and was a Methodist and a member of Letter Carrier's Auxiliary in South Bend.

She married Sherman Eichorst in 1937 in South Bend. Survivors include three sons, Douglas Eichorst of Abilene, Bradley Eichorst of Aiken, S.C., and Kurt Eichorst of Niceville, Fla.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Food Bank of Abilene, 5505 N. 1st, Abilene 79603; or to the American Cancer Society.
