Dr. Yale M. Burke

Dr. Yale M. Burke, D.D.S., 58, of 2121 Bader, died at 5:10 a.m. today in his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on Nov. 1, 1919, in South Bend and was a lifetime resident of the area.
On Oct. 21, 1956, in Cleveland, he married Ilyne Apfel, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Marcia, a student at Indiana University, Bloomington, Barbara, a student at Purdue University, West Lafayette, and Debra at home; two sisters, Mrs. Sara Richman and Mrs. Anne Radding, both of South Bend, and two brothers, Jake of South Bend and Dr. Charles of Miami, Fla.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood, with Rabbi Allen Kuperman officiating. Burial will be in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka. There will be no visitation in the funeral home.
Dr. Burke was a graduate of Central High School and Indiana University School of Dentistry. He was a member of Sinai Synagogue, B'nai B'rith, the South Bend Elks, St. Joseph Lodge No. 45, Free & Accepted Masons, the Indiana Dental Asociation, the North Central Dental Society, the American Dental Assocation, and held state and local offices with the Jewish War Veterans, and was a past commander of St. Joseph County Veterans Council
