Alice Jane (Aslin) Dailey
May 9, 1918 – Feb. 9, 2003
Alice J. Dailey, 84, of Tonti Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away following an illness at 10:35 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born May 9, 1918, in South Bend, to Fred and Meta (Stephan) Aslin, who preceded her in death.
On Nov. 23, 1939, in South Bend, she married Lewis Dailey, who died Jan. 12, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert J. Dailey, and by a sister, Mary Aslin.
She is survived by her sons, Lewis (Sharron) Dailey Jr. of South Bend and James W. Dailey of Bristol, Ind.; her grandchildren, Susan (Tom) Jones and Jill (Jeff) Swartz, both of South Bend; and by her great-grandchildren, Brittany and Kari Swartz, also of South Bend.
She attended the Lutheran School in South Bend from grade school through junior high, and graduated from Central High School.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dailey will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 today, and also one hour prior to the services on Thursday. Burial will follow the services Thursday at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 51490 Laurel Street, South Bend, IN 46637.
Mrs. Dailey was a lifetime member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
