Clair Deforest Alspaugh

Clair D. Alspaugh, 59, formerly of South Bend, died Sunday at the Veteran's Hospital, Miami, Fla., after a 9 week illness. He was employed by the Powell-Ford Motor Co., Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Alspaugh was born on Aug. 9, 1918, in South Bend where he lived until moving to Florida 15 years ago.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Judy McAllister of Mishawaka and Joan of Camdenton, Mo.; three grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Harriet Adams of Fort Lauderdale. Alspaugh was a World War II navy veteran.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Hollis-Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visiting hours
