Mary Jane (Traver) Lacey

MUNCIE Mary Jane Lacey, 89, passed away Monday, July 16, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospital, Frankfort. Mary was born September 19, 1917 in South Bend, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Travor.

She was a 1935 graduate from South Bend Central High School then went on to attend Stephens College and graduated from Indiana University. Mary Jane was employed in the Health Department as a dietitian at Ball State University and a former Director of the Alpha Center. She was a member of St Mary Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary and Daughter's of American Revolution.

Mary Jane is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Philip and Ann Lacey; sister-in-law, Patricia O'Donohue and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William T. Lacey, who passed away February 11, 1984; her son, Robert Joseph Lacey and her daughter, Mary Louise Lacey, both passed away in 1962.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Father Ed Kacena officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. There will be a scripture service at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
