Victoria Maria Shelley (Szaulewicz) Heintzberger
November 15, 1916 ~ April 28, 2015
She resided in Monterey, California, where she was lovingly cared for at Carmelo Park Assisted Living for the past seven years.
Victoria was born November 15, 1916 in South Bend, Indiana and died peacefully with family by her side on April 28, 2015 at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula at the age of ninety-eight.
She was the eldest of three children whose parents immigrated from Poland and Russia. She DePauw University graduating with a degree in Home Economics/Dietetics. During college she met the love of her life, Henry John Heintzberger. They were married in 1943 in South Bend, Indiana.
After World War II, the couple moved to Baltimore, Maryland to start a career and family. They lived in Rosemont, Pennsylvania and San Mateo, California.
Victoria was a "Grand Mama", who adored her four children. She was involved for many years in the San Mateo Women's Club and volunteered hundreds of hours to the San Mateo Library serving as President and Chief fundraiser for the "Friends of the Library".
Victoria is survived by three children, Edward (Karleen) of Walla Walla, Washington, Henry (Leslie) of Campobello, South Carolina, and Victor (Cindy) of Salinas, California. Her daughter, Emily Woodward, of San Anselmo, California, preceded her in death. She was adored by eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
At her request, no services will be held. A private family inurnment will be held in Half Moon Bay, California.
