Violet "Valla" (Sanders) Jodon

Feb. 14, 1917 - July 8. 2003

On July 8, 2003, Violet 'Valla" Jodon passed away in Charlotte, N.C. She was born Violet Sanders on Feb. 14, 1917, in Cincinnati. Ohio, but moved to South Bend, Ind. at an early age with her parents. Jess and Amy Sanders. She graduated from Central High School (Class of 1935) and worked in the office at I & M. She loved to paint and was an avid bridge player.

On Feb. 26, 1938, she married Clayton E. Jodon and they resided in South Bend until his retirement in 1978. They then made their home in Lake Placid, Fla., until his death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Joan; and a son, Dale Edward. They had four children.

Surviving are Mrs. Brent (Ales) Nichols of Traverse City, Mich.. and Mrs. Mark (Gail) Jodon/Hughes of Charlotte, where Violet made her home since late last year. She is also survived by two grandsons and four great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, in Sunnyside Presbyterian Church in South Bend, with Rev. James Miller presiding. Harry & Bryant Company-Funeral Directors, Charlotte, handled arrangements.
