Larry W. Rems
June 27, 1917 – Sept. 21, 2007
ELKHART — Larry W. Rems, 90, formerly of Osceola, passed away at 12:05 am, Friday, September 21, 2007, in Riverside Village Nursing Home, Elkhart. Larry was born on June 27, 1917, in Conrath, WI, to the late Edward and Kunegunda (Baczkiewicz) Rems.
He is also preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Nelson, who passed on July 6, 2001 as well as one brother and four sisters.
Larry graduated from Central High School, class of 1934. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army as part of 64th M.P. Platoon, Ft. Jay, NY, and was honorably discharged on November 21, 1946. He worked for Bendix Corp. for 40 years, before retiring in 1978 as a tool & die maker. He was a member of the UAW Local 9. He was the son of Polish Immigrants. He will be remembered for his love of travel and music.
On July 30, 1955, he married Martha Howarth. She survives, along with two daughters, Cathy (Frank) Wilkinson of Ansonia, CT and Rita (Gary) Bullerman of Osceola; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Henrietta Crosbie of West Lafayette, IN.
Private family services will be held with burial in Plainview Cemetery, Colfax, IN.
