Stanley B. Phelps

Stanley B. Phelps. 56. of 408 E. Fox St.. died at 6:21 a.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He had been a machinist at the Bendix Corp. for 26 vears.

He was born Jan. 21. 1917. in Macomb, Ill.. and lived here most of his life after coming from Macomb.

On April 6, 1937, in South Bend, he married Dorothea Dilley, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Ruby Dill of South Bend; two sons, Stuart D. of Mishawaka and Stanley B. Jr. of South Bend; a daughter, Vicki Lynn, at home; a granddaughter and a sister, Mrs. William Rasmussen of Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.p.m. Tuesday in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel, where services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. F. W. Wiegmann. pastor of the First Christian Church. officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs.

Phelps was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 50.
