Gertrude A. Ireland, age 81, formerly of Skokie, IL, passed away January 7, 1998 at Oakwood Manor in Kansas City, MO.

Gertrude was born in South Bend, IN on April 9, 1916.

She was the wife of former Loyola University Coach George Ireland, they lived in Aurora, IL and Skokie, IL prior to moving to Kansas City, MO in 1996.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years George Ireland; her son Michael P. Ireland and his wife Marie Prairie Village, KS; daughters Judith Van Dyck, of Los Altos, CA and Kathy Schwieger, of Addison, IL; two grandsons and six granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at St. Lambert Catholic Church, 8148 N. Karlov, Skokie on Saturday, January 10 at 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Visitors may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Maryville Academy, 1150 N. River Rd., Des Plaines, IL 60016, appreciated.
