Harold R. Newman

Harold R. Newman, 80, of Jackson Road, South Bend, Ind., died on Friday, Feb. 6, in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Harold was born in Jacksonville, Ill., on Nov. 22, 1917, to George and Lennie Newman.

In South Bend, in 1940, Harold married the former Retha "Tete" Stoner, who preceded him in death in 1985.

He is survived by a son, Larry G. (Vicki) Newman of Niles, Mich.; a granddaughter, Traci; and by a sister, Margaret Jean Newman of South Bend.

Harold retired from the Walsh and Kelly Asphalt Company and was a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 364.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive. Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind
