Mary Jane (Murphy) O'Donnell

Oct. 1, 1917 – July 30, 2003

Mary Jane O’Donnell, 86, of Linden House, Mishawaka, Ind., formerly of Kerlin Drive, Granger, Ind., died Wednesday evening in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Mary retired from Catholic Social Services after 20 years and in 1983 worked at United Health Services for 9 years.

She was born Oct.1, 1917 in South Bend to Christie F. and Mable (Engle) Murphy, who preceded her in death along with two brothers, John and George Murphy.

On Oct. 29, 1939, she married Edwin J. O’Donnell who died May 22, 1998.

Surviving are three daughters, Judith Wade of Mishawaka, Ind., Karen Baert of Clarkston, Mich., and Ann Mathews of Newbury Park, Calif.; eight grand and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, in St .Pius X Catholic Church, Granger. Interment will take place at a later date at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until services in the church on Monday.

She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Pius X Catholic Church and memorials may be made to Catholic Charities or United Health Services. The Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, is in charge of arrangements
