Keith D Morphet

YAKIMA - Keith D Morphet passed away July 19, 2011, at home in Yakima. He was born May 16th, 1915, in Cass County, Indiana, to Earl and Zola (Hollenback) Morphet. He was the only one of their four children to survive.

He grew up in South Bend where he graduated from high school, and where he loved to sit in the Notre Dame bleachers and watch the Fighting Irish play.

In 1941 he met the love of his life, Helen Tamargo, in Miami Beach. They were married in 1942.

They raised their three daughters as he pursued his profession as a master glassblower in New York, New Jersey, Missouri, Maryland and Pennsylvania. He retired in 1980 from Naval Research Laboratories in Washington, DC. He and Helen chose to spend their Golden Years in Florida, Albuquerque, NM, Asheville, NC, and ultimately Yakima, WA.

Keith is survived by his daughters Janet (Pete) Isaacson, Linda (Ed) Davis and Mary Morphet-Brown, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2004.

Viewing will be offered from 10 AM until services begin, on Friday, July 22, with services at 1 PM at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors. Interment will be at Tahoma Cemetery next to his wife, Helen. An online guestbook may be signed at www.shawandson.net.
