Mary Helen Mitchell

MISHAWAKA Mary Helen Mitchell, 78, of Carriage Lane, died at 11:10 p.m. Friday in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, South Bend, of natural causes.

Miss Mitchell formerly was employed as a park and recreation supervisor for the city of Detroit. She was born Oct. 16, 1917, in Keokuk, Iowa, and lived in South Bend for two years.

She is survived by a sister, Effie Roe of Markham, Ill.; and a nephew, Dr. Emmett Roe of Mishawaka.

Services were to be this morning in Olivet AME Church. Burial was to be in Highland Cemetery. Alford's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
